Infor ERP SyteLine 8 Advanced Planning & Scheduling PDF Print E-mail

Infor leads the industry in planning and scheduling capabilities for manufacturers. By integrating its advanced planning and scheduling (APS) engine, Infor ERP SL delivers the ability to automatically plan and schedule order-by-order—streamlining the planning process and delivering improved customer order completion date projections. Infor ERP SL also offers Traditional MRP for those who would to evolve to the APS Planning model.

Three Planning options now available for Infor ERP SL:

  • APS – Finite planning of the facilities resources
  • Advanced MRP – Infinite planning of the facilities resources using the APS model
  • Traditional MRP – Standard MRP logic level by level using Item based fixed leadtimes

Manufacturers can choose to leverage Infor ERP SL's planning functionality by running Advanced MRP or the optional APS planning capabilities. In Advanced MRP mode, the plan reflects the traditional infinite capacity view of production. Infor ERP SL improves the Advanced MRP plan by not planning in the past and by providing a complete picture of each customer order’s pegged requirements.

Infor ERP SL’s Advanced MRP also allows available-to-promise (ATP) dates to be given at the time of order entry.

If running in APS mode, the material and resource plans reflect a truly comprehensive view of production. Here, material and resource capacity are simultaneously considered. The advantages under APS include more realistic capable-to-promise (CTP) dates to customers, “why-late” analysis capabilities, and an improved base from which to schedule.

Advanced MRP and APS generate real-time projections of when you can complete orders by comparing all demands against a long-term plan. The system views the current status of the system, including inventory levels, forecasts, job schedules, PO due dates, customer orders, etc. and creates planned orders accordingly to satisfy the demands.

The long-term plan includes information such as:

  • Demand and supply orders that consume or add to inventory.
  • Each operation in the plan.
  • Each item in the plan.
  • The projected completion date for every planned order.
  • Each resource allocated to a job.
  • Scheduled operations (for work orders in which the resource usage is frozen).
  • Every lateness cause for every demand in the plan.

Infor ERP SL will also provide each planner with an alternative to firming planned orders manually. Replenishment data is placed on the Material Planner Workbench, where it can then be reviewed, edited, and firmed into purchase orders, purchase requisitions, jobs, productions schedules, MPS orders, and transfer orders.

You can generate data from one of the following sources: MRP/APS, item replenishment data, or cross-referenced orders.

Manufacturers need varying degrees of flexibility in how they manage all aspects of their production. Infor ERP SL offers three manufacturing production control methods to match the level of control and diversity desired: work orders, production schedules and JIT/KANBAN. Infor ERP SL provides the ability to switch back and forth among the three methods.
